Fortience Participates in the Development of CO₂ Emissions Calculation Rules Covering the Entire Software Product Lifecycle

Tokyo, Japan – March 26, 2026 – the Japanese consultancy firm within the NTT DATA group, Fortience Consulting Inc. (formerly known as QUNIE CORPORATION; Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shigeki Yamaguchi, hereinafter Fortience) announced that, as a member of the Not-for-Profit Organization Japan Environment Club*¹’s Decarbonization Study Group for the Software Sector (hereinafter the “Software Sector Decarbonization Study Group”), it has participated in the development and publication of CO₂ emissions calculation rules covering the entire lifecycle of software products*².

By applying these calculation rules, CO₂ emissions associated with the development, operation, and disposal of software products can be calculated and evaluated in accordance with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Carbon Footprint Guideline*³. This enables organizations to formulate and execute strategies aimed at minimizing CO₂ emissions attributable to software.

Fortience will continue to promote initiatives that contribute to the reduction of CO₂ emissions in the software sector as well as across the entire supply chain.
